Is he really back? 🙂
One year ago I was at the “Mittelaltermarkt” (Medieval Market) in Pforzheim and I was literally amazed: all this strong characters, costumes and overall atmosphere! Exactly the same moment I’ve got an idea to make a shooting with all this interesting people who host this beautiful event. But how often do we get great ideas and they never get to be done?.. I decided to change this and a year later my idea came to life. (clap on the shoulder 🙂
My friend Martin gladly agreed to help me with it and at one of the evenings in December we went to the fair. The main goal was to give this shoot a little bit of a “studio” look, not just to take snapshots running around. This means we need to talk a lot with people which is actually good and much fun, especially with my level of German 😉 First conversation with a possible “model” gave us zero result in photography meaning: all our enthusiasm crashed against the wall of “I don’t know you and I don’t how you going to use pictures of myself”…hm, absolutely reasonable answer…but not the one we expected. The first feeling was: “Is it going to be every time like this?..” And the only way to get an answer to this question was to go and try again and again. And so we did and were very surprised with openness of all our next “models”! People are awesome. This is probably why I love photography so much. Every single person has so many stories and so much life experience behind his shoulders, and everyone is so different to another! We had a great time doing this shoot and I am very grateful to all the participants!
